Birthday Rides
From Point83
Andre & Possibly Kevin's Opinion
Remember birthdays in elementary school? On the weekend you had a party for your friends and the rich kid who was kind of a friend but you thought he might buy you an expensive gift but didn't. For the party on the weekend you played games, went to a pool, went bowling or ate at a pizzeria. However on your actual birthday your mom came in to school and dropped off cupcakes or Twix or Rice Krispy treats for the whole class. (I'm sure you can't do that now because kids are allergic to everything and anything). 20 minutes later the snacks were finished and class continued. Well the elementary model is an excellent example if your birthday needs recognition on a Thursday ride. Bring out a handle of something cheap or pricey, bake something or bring an activity that the riders can participate in during a 30-60 minute drink stop but don't try to play the birthday card as a trump. Trying to lead a Thursday rides is like herding cats, it's tough to please all those cats when you try to hijack a ride and just do things YOU want to do on your birthday. Save all that creative effort for your awesome weekend party.
Scott's Opinion
Talking about birthday rides make me grumpy.
Everyone Else's Opinion
Notably few other people have voiced strenuous opinions about this. Maybe you can be the captain of your own ship.
