Boys I am too expensive to be given away. Plus every body would be doing stuff Lee doesn't agree with to get some monies. You don't want him to get trampled do you?
But out of curiousity if I crawl into Lees bag does that count as me finishing the race? |

There's a money shot joke in here somewhere.

There are no seventeen year old girls in cascade. They stop riding the back of daddy's tandem at about twelve, and don't come back until they're resentful, angry fifty year old divorcees. |

Not sure if this has come up before, but you can buy your ferry ticket (and bike pass) online and print it out. I think the tollbooth people were kind of pissy last year when 50 people on bikes tried to pay with 20's.

does anybody know if you can use a 10-person card for ten people, or only one person for ten trips? it's about a buck forty cheaper per person. |

it works.. the counter person actually told me about it when we took 10 peeps on a ferry ride for my son's 2nd birthday. 1 person has to run the card at the 'turnstile' for 9 folks and then enter last.

The chili has been made. There are two kinds, as I mentioned.
There is a full bucket (I think it is a five gallon bucket) of "mild" chili for the non-spicy inclined. It is rich, savory, and quite thick.
There is also a gallon of Nygaard's Special Reserve. It's a creeper. Tastes good, gets warm, your forehead explodes in sweat, then a long slow heat which lasts for minutes. It is good and hot, but certainly not at the upper end of my tastes.
Snow cones at the ready people, if you've got the buds for the Nygaard's Special Reserve. |

I know for certain the ten trip pass for ten people thing works.
However... Unless you're in the bicycle surcharge elimination registry ($20/year) there's a $1 surcharge for each bike. So be ready for that. |

veggie chili all made and it's pretty delicious. I think. The professional tasters (Rogelio, Laura, Ben) approved, but requested more chipotle. additional chipotle added, and now we're set.

I'm jealous, bitter, pissed et. al.
I have a knew bike that just had a new chain and freewheel installed tormenting me. If today's weather holds up, it looks to be a great day for pirates. Arrgg & shiver me timbers! Race to the finish for the best booty.

alright then. i have EIGHT additional ferry tickets with passenger AND bike, yours for $7 each - that's a 10% discount plus no hassle.
also: fucking wsdot ferry website people. you do NOT make the credit card field an input type=password. that is fucking stupid. nor do you fail to transact your requests - when i finally do get my credit card in correctly on the 'create an account screen' you should not tell me 'error, username lantius already exists' after you'd bitched me out for failing to enter things incorrectly. gah! |

I have not even begun to think about going to bed yet. I was thinking about watching the last half of The Lost Boys (the original), followed by UFC 86. Then in the a.m...
The idea is to get in a few good efforts on the climb out of bed, then a few more sprints to the coffee pot with plenty of chill-out miles along 12th Ave. so as not to leave me sore for beating you all up on Bainbridge Island. |

| So late. The mother and I built up another Schwinn today from parts I had in the garage. I may ride that tomorrow despite the front derailleur still being disconnected. Need food and sleep before tomorrows shenanigans. |

Rock!
I've never tried to do that kind of distance fast before, and I was a little nervous.
But that was fucking awesome. Congratulations to the top ten, and to everyone else who rode, whether or not they finished or rode a bike with a trailer from the ferry to the pier, or whatever. (Special thanks to that guy, actually.)
Also thanks to everyone who helped organize, made chilly, scored bread and fabric, and anything else that I don't know about that went into this.
Kickass schwag, too. I'm putting that downhill stem on my cross-country bike in about five minutes. Upside down.
And yeah...
btm wrote: best moment, "pull up your pants or get off the boat" coming over the ferry intercom.
When Paul and Amanda and I heard that from outside the ferry, we knew it had to be one of you guys.
