I usually wait until the effects of the FHR have worn off before announcing this. But it occurs to me that they never quite wear off. So, in any case:

Hope to see you there!

Consistently one of my favorite events of the year! I'll be there and riding this year as opposed to running a checkpoint.

Dave - I can run a checkpoint. Or just heckle and throw trashcans at Ben. From my car.

So, Eric_s and I will be in Seattle for spring break and would love to see you all.

Dave, do you need someone to run a check point or help in some way? You can send me an email too: kori at stata.org

Looking forward to this.

Is this a team time trial or an every individual against the clock time trial?

2nd place route. Not bad for someone who will be eligible for AARP himself soon enough.

Note: while attempting to ride up 41st in Laurelhurst last Thursday, my rear derailleur decided it would rather explode. Luckily, this did not happen today.

I'm not seriously stoked about grabbing an electronic device at a bike race...

At the end of the day, every "vapor enthusiast" hopes that the another "vapor enthusiast" is not next person up on the prize list; my condolences to Ben.

Oh great, now Joe is going to think that it's okay for him to continue using this joke.

Also thank you everyone who worked the stops and of course, Professor Dave. The ride was delightful.

You know, that "balls to the wall" shirt does not complement my girthy frame.

A+++ RACE WOULD RACE AGAIN! Only this time I should do some planning beforehand, since apparently I don't know shit about shit in Laurelhurst.

Towards the end Laura got so sick of me yelling "MUSH MUSH! Faster! Faster!" That she kicked me off and made me walk up capitol hill. It was a safe lonely walk for those 10 minutes.

Great time Dave. The routes were beautiful. Thanks for the company Lisa Marie and Rojelio. Of course thx to laura for being the brains and the muscle of the duo.

I'm glad you landed such a great spring afternoon Dave. Even the 3:27 start time worked in our favor since the morning was overcast.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5370892

Here is my variation. As often happens I took off from the start quickly but not fully intending to compete. I was in the third wave (-00:15:00) rode with Jess and Eric to begin with, chose different routes to Laurelhurst and Eric caught up at that stop. Though I had a flat after coming down 55th to 25th Ne but luckily it was just a fender that had rattled loose and was rubbing on the tire but I could readjust it by hand. We saw 2 other riders on Ravena but I can't remember who. Then we caught Tic Toc and Steve but Tic Toc had a flat. At Tangle town Steve, Eric and Myselft were beers #6-7-8 I think. Fred was just behind us. Once I heard this I really was inspired to keep pushing. Missed the light at 50th and I jogged around it then went back to Market because I don't like the blind sidestreets. I caught the rest of the pack back at the bottom of the hill near 8th in Ballard. Deven didn't know what to do with us at the photo point in initially. Took Leary back with Fred and Steve, they too Westlake and I went over Dexter and was solo again. Dave and eric and maybe one more rider cuaght me on Dexter. They cut over to 2nd immediatly and I went on 5th to WLC then to 2nd. Eric and I left Zeitgeist together up Jackson and rolled into Bills at basically the same time. I think he must have had the truffle bonus.

I stared off into the distance at Bill's for at least an hour. Didn't have the will to take any photos at the finish except this one.
Rogelio's Knee
I'll have some pre race sun pictures to download still.

I did a light recovery ride Sunday from Bothell to Red Hook & back. I was surprised how much effort it took. I am out of shape.

Today wasn't so bad, actually.
