Three spots available in the Milesmobile. PM me, and I will capriciously select those of you I know and like.

Just being honest.

Leaving around lunchtime on Friday, returning Sunday afternoon.

Discount code printed on the back of those: H875

So does this mean one only needs the code to redeem this; a physical coupon is not needed?

EDIT: So when I try and just book normally through Amtrak, then enter that code, it says

your mom wrote:
Problem with Promotional Fare: The promotional fare you requested cannot be booked online, so we have provided a non-promotional fare.

Non-promotional fare being the original fare.

On the other hand, the "pay with points" option is only $27 each way, AND you get a 30% bonus when you buy points right now. (I.e. for $54 you would get the 2000 points you need to get to PDX and back, plus another 600 for the future). The disadvantage of this is that adding a bike to the reservation after paying with points is a pain in the ass.

amtrak pay with points is going up in price, so get your tickets now. Usually with the companion coupon you have to buy in person: They have figured out about the internet sharing of discounts. Astonishing, I know. I'll hopefully not be on a field trip so i can get into trouble with p83.

Is the companion coupon buy one, get one free, or buy one, get one 50% off?

Hmmm, Really? Cause if that is the case would there be so much clamor about how to get these convoluted cheap train tickets?

cheap train tickets are just as comfortable as full price ones. cheap hotel rooms, not so much.

9pm Fri show ticket acquired, may get the Sat 5pm one as well.

Interested in a train ticket or carpooling.

Ksep, any luck with Crown Plaza? I'd be down to stay there, that pool party was one of the best moments of last years FBB trip... well, aside from this one, may never laugh that hard again in my life:

Later, on her back in a pile of crumpled up money hurled onto the stage like fucking hail, wearing underwear that says "FUCK YOU SATAN", she will fuck a lip-sync'ing Jesus Christ muppet to the tune of Jesus Christ Superstar after giving him a pretend handjob.

3 MINUTE STANDING OVATION.

I think we broke poor Paul.

I could be wrong but I don't think we saw so much as a single nipple.

A solid maybe.

I get my first week schedule tomorrow and will have to feel out future scheduling.

Heather, I'm glad you got that last spot! I tried to get two spots on that train on Friday but only one was left so I'm glad it went to you.

Archie and I are currently booked on the 11:25am train out of Seattle on Friday, and the 2:50pm train out of PDX on Sunday. I've lost track of who is on which train at this point but I hope we have some good company!

I will be riding a train with Talia!

We couldn't get bike hooks, but we'll just box ours, no biggie.

I'm a yes but maybe for this trip. Christine may have to work that weekend, which would suck. But I can carry 5 bikes and 5 people.

And I saved about $100 by buying with points, in case you're keeping track Andre.

Next up, sleeping accommodations. Did anyone ever break through on priceline for the crowne plaza?

Kevin has been working that angle, my concern is that I wanted to see what regular rates for that night were at the Crown Plaza Downtown?? site and the hotel website says::

'There are no rooms available for your requested travel criteria. Please consider modifying your preferences or requested reservation dates'

Any other spots that we should be looking at?

trying to work out transport logistics- anyone possibly got a bike i can borrow for the weekend?

i hate the hell out of airport breakdown BS and was thinking about coming in to SEA on thu anyhow. nbd if no, but it seems a little silly to schlep a bike across the country given the glut of bikes in this group.

uh generally me-sized?

actually due to some weird pricing fluke, it saves me wads of cash to fly into seattle, train to pdx, then fly out of pdx, so i'd have to saddle someone with the loaner on the return. i think this means i bite the bullet and box my shit.

thanks, though! on the same train w/ you and mike on fri.
