7 years. In a couple weeks we'll meet up extra early. We'll ride a ton of miles up and down hills, we'll get mad, punchy, and end up tired and alone sleeping it off in a ditch covered in chili. The FHR strikes again.

Sponsors: (more being added daily)
02 Rainwear from Rainshield
Sonadei
SKS Germany
Enve
Human Gear
Bailey Works
Phil Wood
Backpackers Pantry
Ambler Hats
Mountain House Foods
Knog Lights
Mobius Cycle
Aquapac
Harlot Wear

Honey, our lovely dancer, is donating a lap dance
Crazy Creek Products

We show up and meet at 8ish am on Sunday the 26th. Quick sign up and bullshit session under the viaduct at Washington and Alaska. Mob over to the ferry at 9am sharp and wait for the 9:35 boat. Heckle, get heckled. Boat ride, then a 33 mile hilly bike race culminating in a chili feed and prize fest. We've had years of chili, prizes, races, harbor masters, lost skin, hurt pride, awkward sexual advances, and all kinds of other fun. We're doing it again.

The race is 7 dollars. Prizes will again be cash and a huge pile of bike schwag from our gracious sponsors. All you can eat chili feed at the finish line (veg and meaty) included. I'll try to have a pile of free beer there again too. Bring an extra 8 dollars to cover the cost of the ferry, return trip is free.

This is a GREAT day event. 33 miles of hills and cold. Bainbridge is beautiful, and it's a great challenging ride. Plus, every year so far EVERYONE attending has gotten prizes, regardless of finishing placement. A big set of people even get a few prizes. Lots of giveaways traditionally.

More details and sponsor info will be dropped here as it comes in.

If you know of anyone that wants to help out and donate anything (service, item, etc) put them in touch with me. Anything related to cycling or outdoors or strippers or booze makes great prizes. Use your imagination. Talk to anyone you know that might be a position to help out. I can make great laminated gift certificates if you have a service that you'd like to donate as a prize, examples here

Weissbier's brewin'. should be good to go by FHR. The only hard part is getting the keg -I'm trying to arrange transport from Granite Falls to Fremont on the weekend of the 18th.

Derrick what's with your fixation with awkward sexual advances?

Also where do I sign up for the free backrubs booth that we will be offering to all of the riders this year at the finish?

Those 2010 pics make me really sad I skipped last year. Stupid 100°F fever.

Unless a wicked cold snap comes through this year, the chilly hilly might not be absolutely shitty.

And Sweeny, you already had your crackup for 2012. No wiping out this year.

After taking into account the coriolis effect, El Nino, La Nina, doppler radar for the west coast, listening to some Cliff Mass recordings, and consulting our lord and savior Mortimer, Yes.

Man, I fucking hope not. Crashed hard twice last year... my body can't take that anymore.

"Pull up your pants or get off the boat!"

Choice words from the ship's captain announced over the intercom.

Bike gear is great and all, but we need more booze sponsors. Who's got hookups?

langston - New Belgium?
anyone - Scottish Spirits?

I called, and New Belgium requires 2 month advance notice to apply.

Booze sponsors usually want it to be at a bar or someones house. An un-permitted tent in the park is hard for them to swallow.

This based on my conversation with the local Ninkasi rep.

"Two Beers" said no, they typically only sponsor established non-profits.

So jerf, do we need to setup a 501(c)(3) for the purpose of promoting cultural inclusion of bicycle activities?

This is a really good idea.

Next year we need to start sooner on New Belgium, at least 2 months in advance.

Tara,

It kind of trails off into a whole day event if you want it to be. If we get the 9:35 ferry we land about 10:00. Begin racing soon after that. First finisher may come in about Noon, other trikcle in till about 1pm. Prizes maybe happen starting at 2pm then. Some folks head back ealier but others inevitably start missing boat after boat and then come back to seattle late that night.

If you win a prize at the race, please drop them a note thanking them. Really helps us keep support over the years.
