Come to mine. I'm turning 30.
At gasworks park, down by the water, somewhere easy to find.
This Friday, August 26th.
Starting around 5.
A barbecue will be burning.
I'll have some food and beer.
Bring snacks and anything else you want to drink.
Okay, now let the old jokes begin. |

Get there early to find parking; Miles will have probably already taken one of the good spots.
Contemplating bringing some portobello mushrooms and a side of beer. Maybe veggie dogs, as I've got a big jar of sauerkraut in the fridge. |

I'm a likely yes but yes, it looks like a nice day to hang out by the water on a Friday evening.
30 isn't old. So far my 30s have been great.

| I've liked my 30s better than my 20's, by far. |

But in all seriousness, I've had a similar discussion with Kristen about birthdays... and we came to the conclusion that: We are not all growing older, we are growing better.
Hope you have a Happy Birthday if I don't see ya tonight Miles! |

I was thinking about this earlier. 0-10 was a pretty awesome decade, I didn't have many worries in those years. I liked when I could occupy a day by jumping my bike on little wood ramps or by playing with legos or by reading a big pile of books.
10-20 was the lowest quality decade, things have gotten better every decade since. |

In general, I would say my 20s generally were mediocre. 30s are proving to be pretty cool, and I admit I think I enjoyed 10-20 fairly well.
20s mostly suck because you're old enough to do whatever you want - just can't afford to *do* it. So you end up doing half-ass stuff, or else working your ass off to save up some cash with your shitty job, and then you go do cool shit for about half the time you want to.
30s? you've finally got a decent income, you have experience to know not to get too stupid drunk too fast (because ridin' the buzz is the way to roll), and you understand the value of doing things proper-like. If I'm gonna get drunk, I'm gonna do it proper. If I'm gonna ride my bike like a mofo, I'm gonna do it proper.
40s? No data collected at this point. |

| Joe you summed my feelings up exactly. When I was in my 20s I couldn't afford to do shit. |

| I can attest to the fact that Scott was not happy in his 20s! |
